The Relevance And Importance Of Solid History: History Is Wisdom For Living Better With Your Mind At Rest

Everything we do or what we eventually become is based on our backgrounds. That is the reason when companies consider giving a person a job the first thing they consider is the background experience.

Experience is everything and experience is about your background and background is History. The study, understanding and appreciation of history cannot be ignored. During the 20th century to the present, the study, the understanding and the appreciation of history has been relegated to the background as the world felt in love with modern psychology.

Now, I do not want to belabor the point, I will just want to state this, that in many ways the appreciation of psychology has brought so much anguish, so much sorrow and so much sadness in society. That is where we are now in this 21st century. What is the character of the 21st century? It is the problems with lack of sound mental health. People are torn. The lives of people are experiencing great trauma and there is this uneasiness and the inability to cope. And that brings me to the issues of depression, stress, anxiety and general unexplained psychological pain. So if there is a problem the best medicine for that problem is not about curing the symptoms. It is about going back to the roots of the problem. And the roots of the 21st century psychological sickness and psychological disease was the neglect of history. Without the understanding and appreciation of solid history your life become rootless. No anchor. Psychology and psychologists are basing their truths on speculations and tests that are often done out of contexts. The modern person seems to be like a balloon that while it attracts attention, while it is admired as it floats in the air and arousing wonder, yet in the long run, the balloon is empty and nothing. Not only is it full of puff air but also it is fragile, one little prick on it its gone.

At the roots of our 21st century psychological suffering is the fact that we have been disconnected with our essence, our background, our fellow human beings. Ideas evolve and there get strength in time. What people in the past experienced we can learn from those experiences and improve on them.

That is what is called evolution. But alas, the 21st century person has been robbed of that sound living, and in exchange he or she is pumped up with psychological speculations of great psychologists like Sigmund Freud, Albert Ellis, Carl Rogers, Carl Jung and so on. These are some of the culprits.
